DOC 5. Car Parking
Our urbanisation rules are drawn up “to establish and maintain good relationships between neighbours” and are well thought out and useful for that purpose. However, there are no rules governing car parking and over the years there are increasing pressures on our urbanisation internal roads. There are fewer available places on these roads than there are owners living next to these roads and in summer there is an obvious conflict. Residents are getting older and infirm, some need to park close to their homes. But these spaces are sometimes taken by people who do not exercise consideration for others.
So we propose the following new rule. “Car parking spaces on interior roads are limited and first claim on the spaces should be for people living on or near the roads. No long-term parking will be permitted on these roads and trailers, vans and lorries will not be allowed to park except for unloading or essential works on the urbanisation. People with homes on the exterior roads of the community – ie the eastern and western roads and the ravine road should park on these roads and not on interior roads. In all cases disabled parking places must be observed. No untaxed or uninsured vehicles will be permitted on the urbanisation and no vehicles deemed to be an eyesore will be permitted to be parked on urbanisation roads.”
