We have been informed of a recent break-in on a nearby community.

Apparently the owner went upstairs, leaving the front door open. An opportunist thief walked in and attempted to steal easy to take items. The owner came downstairs and caught the thief red-handed, but he ran off. The owner gave chase but fell and broke a leg.

Everyone should be aware there are opportunist thieves about. If you are going upstairs, make sure the front door and windows are locked. If, for example, you are washing your car and are away from your front door, make sure no-ocan sneak in and steal from you.

These sorts of thefts always seem to be more prevalent at Christmas time.
