From 2023 drivers using Spain’s toll roads will need to display a prepaid electronic sticker on their car which will give them access to all Spanish high speed roads. According to spanishnewstoday the Spanish Ministry of transport has confirmed that this fixed priced sticker system will ultimately be replaced with a pay as you go system whereby the driver will be charged one cent per kilometre.

Further details of it’s implementation have yet to be finalised and the Government aim to publish a proposal by the end of 2022.
