New rules for vehicles : Have your say

At the 2018 AGM it was suggested that I open a discussion on the website concerning rules and accepted norms concerning the control of vehicles on our urbanisation.

There are two main aspects to this. One concerns safety. The other concerns owners, guests and renters conducting themselves reasonably, so they are all good neighbours and consider the needs of others.

The main problems concern the internal roads on our urbanisation where pathways enter into roads and excessive speeds can be dangerous. We have all, I’m sure, seen car drivers travel down internal roads at speeds in excess of 30kmh which is stupid and dangerous.

Also, these internal roads have limited car parking spaces and if people who do not live directly on these roads park in them it limits available spaces to those who actually live adjacent to the roads.

So I am proposing the following:

Rules: On internal roads a maximum speed limit of 20kmh.

No untaxed and uninsured cars to be allowed on urbanisation roads.

No eyesore vehicles to be permitted.

No parking of trailers, campervans etc, to be permitted to be parked on internal roads.

Disabled parking spots to be observed.

Observances: People who live in elsewhere than internal roads should give priority to those who live in internal roads and people who own garages, underbuilds/garages and driveways should use them rather than take up spaces on internal roads.

I would like to hear from anyone who has any view on the above, so I can place observations before the next AGM.
