Following representation from an owner about the lack of notices on the gates of our urbanisation swimming pools I have yesterday placed an order for four notices to be made up in Spanish and English reading “PLEASE LOCK THIS GATE” The total cost is €95.

Sadly, this summer, it has been brought to my attention that some owners/relatives/renters have been using the pools either propping the gates open or failing to lock the gates.

It amazes me that people can be this careless – especially when there are young children in our urbanisation in summer. I do not want to be hearing of a child falling into and drowning in our pools because of  carelessness and thoughtlessness. I hope that the notices on gates will be a reminder. They should be in place by this weekend. In the meantime will every adult be aware that the gates should be locked.
