Today we awoke to see heavy snowfall. Temperatures dropped overnight to 2 degrees centigrade thanks to winds from the east which have come from Russia. It’s the first time in their lifetime that people who have lived in the area have seen snow on the coast.

Apparently it last snowed in Torrevieja in 1926 and because it is so cold sports centres are being utilised and beds brought in to help the city’s homeless warm and dry during the cold weather.
