I am pleased that as yet our urbanisation has been spared the loss of water supply which we were warned about last night. I understand that some other parts of Orihuela Costa have not been so fortunate.
On another matter, this week I had to call in a sewer cleaning company because of a blocked sewer which caused a serious leakage of sewerage.
The company discovered the cause was some roots from a hedge entering the sewerage system and then a combination of baby wipes and wet wipes getting attached to the roots causing a complete blockage.
The cost of unblocking this sewer under an urbanisation passageway plus the cost of anti bacterial liquids was almost €100.
I would ask everyone not to put these types of wipes down toilets and also to think seriously about hedges and trees in gardens, some of which are close to sewerage runs.
